Since 1868
Sparkling natural mineral water

This naturally sparkling and extremely pure mineral water springs from the foot of the Aizac Volcano, which rises to 808 metres, in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Natural Park, in a magnificent and protected site.
Renowned since ancient times for its unique taste, fine bubbles and benefits.
Since 1868, it has been exclusively bottled in glass bottles by artisan ore collectors.
Since 2025, we have been working on exclusive 33cl & 75cl glass bottles that are 30% lighter.
OUR HISTORY
Born in 1868 thanks to the construction of an artesian well at an altitude of 640 meters, the Source du Grand Volcan is the highest in the Ardèche Mountains. A resource valued by the local inhabitants and most likely exploited since time immemorial. Following a laudatory report from the Academy of Medicine, it was Auguste Blachère who obtained a license to exploit the spring in 1869. At a time when mineral waters were regulated by the Ministry of Health, the water from the Source du Grand Volcan was sold in pharmacies as far away as Marseille for its medicinal properties. For over a century, mineral artisans succeeded one another, each taking care to preserve this precious commodity and offering it for tasting in Aizac, in the Antraigues Valley, and beyond. In 2020, the spring was purchased and the renovation of the buildings, the catchment area, and the industrial park began, leaving the existing facilities and the site's history intact. With the aim of revitalizing the economy of the past, four partners, all deeply attached to the region, decided to take over the spring. Hugues, a native of the region, has always strived to promote the riches of his native land. Mickaël, a local memory, specialized in industrial processes as well as subsistence farming, has always seen his ancestors working at the spring. Florence and Benoît, winemakers from southern Ardèche, are passionate about all that is precious and alive, both wine and mineral water! Volcan is above all a story of friendships, affinities, know-how, and the desire to do things right.
THE SOURCE
Aizac, a village of stone, earth, wood, and water. An unexpected Ardèche village, overlooking the valley and whose crown jewel, the Coupe d'Aizac volcano, is unmissable. A land of springs, the most famous of which gives life to Volcan, the naturally sparkling mineral water, as raw as it is precious. In the hollow of the springs valley, on the foothills of the Cévennes plateau, the living water of the Volane meanders and spreads life. The river brushes the slopes of the Coupe d'Aizac, the name given to the volcano, where, higher up, the naturally sparkling Volcan mineral water wells up. On its mysterious journey through the volcanic heartland, this water has become enriched with the minerals of the earth. In this cool, unspoiled valley, in the heart of chestnut groves, the village of Aizac faces Antraigues, the land of Jean Ferrat, and enjoys a dominant position between the wide open spaces of the Ardèche plateau and the more southern Ardèche, with its always blue sky, sometimes disturbed by the sea breezes. In this generous setting where the passes follow one another with the same frenzy as the curves of the river, everything is life and abundance.

Culminating at an altitude of 808 meters, the Aizac volcano, often compared to Mount Etna, is partially erupted by an 88,000-year-old basalt flow. This eruption gave rise to the Coupe and these incredible basalt organ formations. A landscape of towering chestnut trees and pines, red earth, black scoria, and freely undulating corded lava. A landscape filled with the scent of humus in autumn and young shoots in spring, nourished by the crackle of chestnut leaves on the ground, the murmur of trees, trickling water, and pounding woodpeckers. In this fertile valley, the precious beverage springs forth without drilling and produces Volcan, a naturally sparkling mineral water. Of pristine purity, the water has traveled underground for countless years before rising to the surface, laden with volcanic gas. Through the fissures of the basaltic rock, the magmatic water rises naturally via a 12-meter artesian well, created in 1866. Day after day, the volcano watches over the forest, the village, its inhabitants, and the animals that inhabit this perfectly preserved valley in the Ardèche Mountains.

Unpredictable, unfiltered, authentic, Volcan is a water imbued with freedom. Airy, generous, and delicately sparkling, Volcan the tightrope walker connects the sky to the stone.
Born from rain and magma, the finely sparkling mineral water, free from any packaging, reveals itself at the first sip.
Invariable, pure, fresh and delicate, Volcan can be enjoyed on its own or with a glass of wine, and takes those who drink it on a deep dive, as soothing as it is regenerating.
